Alicia K. Harris

RBC Emerging Artist 2023-25

Alicia K. Harris is a filmmaker from Scarborough, Ontario. She is best known for her short film Pick, which won Best Live Action Short at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards. 

Alicia directed the TIFF-selected web series Lido TV, hosted by Lido Pimienta, which earned her a Best Direction nomination at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards. Her latest short film, Only Light Will Touch Us, was commissioned by REEL CANADA and Netflix for National Canadian Film Day. 

Her television credits include the inaugural episode of Black Life: Untold Stories, which premiered at TIFF in 2023 and aired on CBC in October 2023. She also directed and co-executive produced the pilot and several other episodes of Amazon’s upcoming series Beyond Black Beauty

Well-versed in many mediums, she directed the “Pressure” music video for Grammy-winning artist Koffee, which has 10+ million views, and a musical film for Jessie Reyez commissioned by the Polaris Music Prize. Alicia is known for her high-concept visual style and is dedicated to celebrating the Black experience in her work, with a focus on authenticity, beauty, and spirituality.
