RBC Emerging Artists in Our Schools

Fuad Ahmed

(previously known as Gabe Grey)
RBC Emerging Artist 2016-17

Born in Karachi, Pakistan, and growing up in a collection of different countries, Fuad eventually landed in Mississauga, Ontario, which he has called home ever since. Since making the decision to become an actor, his career has landed him a variety of roles, including working with Canadian-Indian director, Deepa Mehta, in her Sikh gangster epic, Beepa Boys.

His identity as an actor is intertwined with his identity as a South-Asian man, which has, and continues to be influenced by experiences of racism within the film industry and pushes him to advocate for more South Asian representation and respect. In 2023, as he continues to grow, he can be seen in several TV shows, such as Kids in the Hall, Hudson & Rex, Roses of Signal Hill, and Hello (Again).

REEL CANADA champions emerging Canadian film talent through our Emerging Artists in Our Schools programme, proudly supported by the RBC Foundation through their Emerging Artists project.
