Joshua Odjick

RBC Emerging Artist 2023-25

Joshua Odjick is an award-winning actor from Ottawa, Ontario, who was raised in Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg, a First Nation community in Maniwaki, Quebec. He is of Algonquin-Anishinabe and Cree heritage, belongs to the Deer clan and is recognized in ceremony as “Nabigabow” (he who replaces the first).

He landed his first series regular role in Unsettled and has since appeared in the award-winning feature Bootlegger and several limited series, including Little Bird, Three Pines, Pour Toi Flora, and Bones of Crows. He also portrays the distance runner Tom Longboat in the Canadian historical series of shorts Heritage Minutes.

Joshua won the Canadian Screen Award and the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Award in 2022 for Best Supporting Actor for the multi-award-winning feature film Wildhood, which premiered at TIFF in 2021.

Currently, Joshua plays one of the lead roles in the internationally released series The Swarm (2023), an ecological thriller about the delicate interconnectedness between mankind and Earth, from Primetime Emmy Award-winning television producer Frank Doelger.
