RBC Emerging Artists in Our Schools
Julia Sarah Stone
RBC Emerging Artist 2017-18
Originally from Vancouver, Julia started performing on stage at the age of six, landed her first film role in THE YEAR DOLLY PARTON WAS MY MOM, and has since starred in countless projects, including the Canadian Screen Award-nominated WEIRDOS. Over the past few years, she has starred in the 2020 independent thriller, COME TRUE, for which she was nominated for Best Lead Performance at the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, the 2021 biopic MARLENE, and in 2023, awaits the release of her latest film, BEFORE THE WORLD SET ON FIRE, currently in post-production.
Although her work in the Canadian and international film industries means she is constantly traveling, she reminds us that, “Vancouver has everything that makes Canada beautiful”, and it will always be her home.
REEL CANADA champions emerging Canadian film talent through our Emerging Artists in Our Schools programme, proudly supported by the RBC Foundation through their Emerging Artists project.
